2pyrtl — Terms of Service

Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-09-18

These terms are an agreement between you and Lone Wolf Softlabs (OPC) Private Limited about your use of 2pyrtl. Please read them. By creating an account, or by continuing to use 2pyrtl, you agree to them.

1. Definitions

In these terms:

  • the Company, we, us and our mean Lone Wolf Softlabs (OPC) Private Limited, a company incorporated in India, with its registered office at B-1203, Shriram Sahaana Apts., Avalahalli, Yelahanka, Bengaluru 560064, Karnataka, India and CIN U31003KA2026OPC221431.
  • you and your mean the person using 2pyrtl under an account.
  • the Service means 2pyrtl as a whole, comprising all of the parts below.
  • the Browser Application means the part of the Service that is delivered to your browser and runs on your own device. It is where your files are encrypted and decrypted.
  • the Backend means our server, which holds your account record and your encrypted files, and which passes your code to the Sandbox to be run.
  • the Sandbox means an isolated container, created for a single run and destroyed afterwards, in which your code is executed.
  • the Viewer means the interactive schematic viewer in which a design is displayed and arranged.
  • the Library means rtllibpack, the collection of ready-made hardware modules offered with the Service.
  • your Workspace means the folders and files held in your account.
  • a Design means code you write, together with the hardware description, schematic and other output produced from it.
  • your Credentials means the means by which you sign in and by which your files are encrypted: your passkeys, your passphrase and your backup codes.

2. What the Service is

2pyrtl is a browser-based environment for designing digital hardware in Python. Through it you may write Python that describes hardware; run it, which the Service executes in a Sandbox and from which it produces a hardware description in Verilog or VHDL together with a schematic and related output; view and arrange that schematic in the Viewer and keep the arrangement you make; build on the Library of ready-made modules; and export what you have produced.

The Service is a design aid. It does not verify that a Design is correct, synthesisable, manufacturable, or fit for any particular purpose, and it is not a substitute for your own verification. What it generates is a translation of what you wrote, including any error you wrote.

3. Your account

You need an account to use the Service, and you must give a working email address and verify it. You may hold one account per email address. You may not create accounts to evade a limit or a suspension, and you may not share an account.

You sign in with a passkey. No password is used to sign in, and the private part of a passkey never leaves your device.

Separately from signing in, your files are encrypted, and that encryption uses a passphrase you choose together with your passkeys and your backup codes. Your passphrase is not a sign-in password, and it is never sent to the Backend. What the Backend holds is, for each of your Credentials, a public value and a copy of your file-encryption key that only that credential can open. The opening happens in the Browser Application, on your device.

Two consequences follow, and they are the most important part of these terms.

If you lose all of your Credentials, your files cannot be recovered. Not by you, and not by us. There is no master key, no override and no support process that can retrieve them, because no such capability exists.

If you delete a file, it is gone. There is no recycle bin, and no backup from which we can restore it. If you want to be able to go back, keep your own copy — either by exporting your Workspace and keeping it on your own machine or elsewhere, or by keeping a second copy of the file in your Workspace.

You are responsible for keeping your Credentials safe, and for what is done under your account.

4. Your Designs remain yours

You own everything you create with the Service. We claim no ownership of your Designs, your code, or the output generated from them.

You grant us only the permission needed to run the Service for you: to store the encrypted form of your files, to transmit your source to the Sandbox so that it can be executed at your request, and to return its output to you. That permission ends when you delete the material or your account.

We do not use your Designs to train models, and we do not share them with anyone other than the infrastructure providers named in our Privacy Policy, who process them on our instructions in order to run the Service.

5. What belongs to us

The Service is our property and is not open source. That includes the Backend, the Sandbox, the Viewer, the compiler that turns your Python into hardware descriptions, and the Browser Application — the code delivered to your browser and running on your own computer. Delivery to your device gives you the right to use it through the Service; it gives you no other right to it.

You may not copy, decompile, reverse engineer or attempt to extract any part of the Service, nor use the Service to build a competing product.

The Library is a separate matter: it is released under the Apache License 2.0, and you may use it freely in your own Designs, including commercially, on that licence's terms.

6. Acceptable use

The Sandbox that runs your code is a shared and finite resource. You agree not to:

  • run anything unrelated to hardware design — no cryptocurrency mining, no general computation, no long-running services;
  • attempt to break out of the Sandbox, reach another user's data, or attack the Service or any third party from it;
  • deliberately exhaust capacity so that others cannot use it;
  • circumvent the run, storage or rate limits;
  • upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to upload.

We have the right to suspend or terminate an account that does any of these, and we may do so immediately where the Service or other users are at risk, without any promise or guarantee regarding any resulting loss of your files, data, time or productivity.

7. Availability and limits

We make our best effort to provide the highest availability we can. We do not, however, guarantee any particular level of availability. The Service runs on modest infrastructure and may be unavailable for maintenance, for upgrades, or because something has broken. We do not guarantee that your work will be preserved, and you should keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Because the Sandbox is a shared resource, we set limits on how long a run may take, how often you may run, and how much you may store. We may change those limits, and will give reasonable notice of a change that materially reduces them.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by the laws of India, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

In particular, we do not warrant that the hardware descriptions produced by the Service are correct. You are responsible for verifying any Design before relying on it, and certainly before committing it to manufacture.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by the laws of India, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for loss of profit, revenue or data, nor for the cost of fabricating a Design.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with these terms or the Service is limited to the total amount you paid us for the Service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account removes your account record, your stored files, your passkey records and your backup codes.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop offering the Service. Where we can, we will give notice and an opportunity to export your work.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. Where a change materially reduces your rights, we will notify you before it takes effect, by email to your registered address and by asking you to accept the new terms the next time you sign in. For any other change, we may notify you by the same means, and the current version is always published here.

It is your responsibility to read notices sent to your registered email address, to sign in, and to complete any acceptance the Service asks of you, within a reasonable time. If you do not do so and you continue to use the Service, the changed terms apply to your continued use from the date they take effect.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them.
